On Wednesday, November 4, at 8:00 pm, the Teatro di Villa Torlonia will host an evening of outstanding music featuring the Kairi Quartet, winners of First Prize at the 2024 Annarosa Taddei Association International Competition for Young Musicians.

The quartet’s return is a welcome occasion to celebrate an artistic journey that continues to flourish, reflecting the talent and vitality of the new generation of chamber musicians.

The four young musicians began their journey as an ensemble at the Tokyo College of Music, where their artistic partnership took shape and laid the foundations for an increasingly active international concert career. In a remarkably short time, the Kairi Quartet has attracted the attention of prestigious musical institutions and received important international recognition, from Canada to Japan.

Among their most recent achievements are Third Prize at the 2026 Banff International String Quartet Competition in Canada and Third Prize at the 2026 Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan. These successes mark another important step in the quartet’s artistic development and growing international reputation.

The concert also offers an opportunity to welcome back these outstanding young musicians, whom the Annarosa Taddei Association had the pleasure of recognizing and awarding in 2024. It is a further expression of the Association’s ongoing commitment to supporting emerging talent and promoting the appreciation of classical music.

The Programme

The evening will feature three masterpieces of the string quartet repertoire:

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – String Quartet No. 16 in E-flat major, K. 428
  • Franz Schubert – Quartettsatz in C minor, D. 703
  • Ludwig van Beethoven – String Quartet No. 9 in C major, Op. 59 No. 3, “Razumovsky”

A musical journey spanning different eras and expressive languages, highlighting the richness and extraordinary possibilities of the string quartet.
